SHORT BIO

Anil Shetty (born 25 June 1987) is an Indian social leader, time investor, entrepreneur, author, activist and a motivational speaker, based in India. He is the lead campaigner of "Save Govt Schools" movement in Karnataka.

  

LONG BIO

Anil Shetty came from Shankarnarayan, a small village in Udupi, Karnataka. At childhood in his village approx. everyone is very poor. His own home was in jungle that was much wrecked and his father’s income was not enough to run his family. But from the childhood Anil was having a passion to study. He went to a government school where he completed basic studies. After the school time he used to do part time jobs in order to support his family. He also performs late night studies through which he was able to score 95% in class twelveth. His family felt proud of him and people of village also appreciated him a lot. With his result, he got a chance to study in M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology, which was situated in Bengaluru. But admission fees were ₹15,500 which his father cannot afford because his father was indulged to agriculture. His father was having a debt which he was paying through farming only. One of relative helped him in getting admission. He then came to Bengaluru in 2005, and he was having only ₹70 which was not enough to survive. So, he decided to work on a sweet shop.

After completing his studies he wishes to pursue his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. At the age of 20, he began his career as trader in stock market.at the of 23, he traveled to Mumbai and with one of his friend he co-founded a company “FLY WITH VIP” which engages Celebrities from BollywoodCricket, and high business. Today he is not only a successful Entrepreneur but an independent investor who helped many start-ups to grow. 

He wrote two books 'The making of I' in which he wrote about his experiences revolving around his moral and spiritual growth. He is also the author of "Project Hope", a coffee table book that aimed to raise awareness about cancer. The foreword for the book has been penned down by Kiran Mazumdar Shaw. 

 Shetty was invited by the United States' Department of State to be the part of International Visitors Leadership Program to represent India. Furthermore, he criticised the BBMP's system of distributing Kempegowda Awards annually presented to achievers from different walks of life. He called for more transparency in the system. [18]\ Grammy winner Ricky Kej and other influencers supported his campaign by performing on Bengaluru's Church Street.

In his small life he achieved many lessons. He felt that if there is an amendment made in government schools then better education can be given.

He is currently running a successful statewide campaign "Save Govt School" demanding new "State Education Policy" which aims to revolutionize public education system in Karnataka.
Celebrities came out in support for the campaign and have been donating for the cause for it to be strengthened.
